Bran:
Much appreciated! It felt good to fight against so many different opponents. The varied heights and styles of the fighters makes things 10X interesting.
I always went into the list with a positive attitude that, even if I didn't win, I'd defend well and make a few decent shots.
See you tonight at St. Charles fighting practice.

Yitzhak, you stated, "...(I died 8 times against 8 fighters) in the Novice Tournament. (Any prizes for worst fighter?)..."
You are not the worst fighter. The worst fighter is he or she that could have fought yet chose not to in that honorable list. You were worthy of your opponents!
/salute!
And I'm glad you had a blast. It only gets better!

What a great & fun event. It was great to see some faces that we have long missed. Ceinwen & I regret making it so long between attending this gathering of great food, family & (new & olde) friends.

Excellent time at Wassail! Thank you to all who attended and organized. It was my very first experience at an S.C.A. event and I count it as one of the best times I've ever had.
The food was delicious and of such a tasty variety that I think I'd need a week to sample it all (though I didn't do too badly going back to the tables for seconds and thirds!) The stuffed cabbage, YUM! (Note to self: start diet on Monday)
The authorization for me and my friend Urbain went well, (Huzzah!) and I couldn't help but smile throughout each and every subsequent death (I died 8 times against 8 fighters) in the Novice Tournament. (Any prizes for worst fighter?)
I found Lady Joleicia's documentation class to be both thorough and highly interesting. I am now eager to (albeit, at a beginner's level) do some authentic researching instead of merely slapping together a "fast food" background.
One of the most amusing parts of the evening was watching the Bones (sp?) treasure & baubles games being played (both PG and R rated versions). My wife knows I'm an avid collector of "worthless" trinkets and I'm piling them into my own Bones chest for playing at the next event.
Thank you all for a lovely day - and see you at the next training; tournament; and/or event.
Oh yes, here's some photos (and a video) from the day: Photos and Video
best regards,
Yitzhak ben Menasha (Yitzi)
PS: I've been busy peening rivets into the pieces of my new Valsgard-6 Zweihammer helm (there's about 4,000 rivets (or thereabouts...) oh my arm! |

Had a wonderful day at Wassail as well, thanks to all!!! My appologies for not being able to hold my 2 classes, just ran out of time. If there is any interest I can hold one or both at a fight practice, just pm me if you would like to attend. I will also be running them both at 12th Night. _________________ Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!

SUCCESS!
Yitzhak and Urbain both authorizes as Armored Fighters.
There was a pool tourney of 10 fighters.
The finals were Laurenz and Vulgrin. Vulgrin of Outremer won the tourney.
Several classes were held including a good CPR basics by Tyerrie.
A&S: 3rd place Tyerrie, 2nd place Duchess Rebekah, 1st place Lady Matilda of Outremer ( who now replaces Lord Kiaus as Baronial A&S Campion).
We were blessed to have Their Most Dread Majesties, Their August Highnesses and Their Eminent Baronial Tenats in attendance and enjoying themselves.
Thank you all that participated in set-up, clean-up, teaching classes, for all the food (Oh my gosh the food), the folks that particiapted in the Ice Tourney and those that ran it and a special thanks to all those that brought clothing for the poor. I thad to be the larges stack of clothing I have ever witnessed at this event.

We had a great time too.
Thanks to all who were part of the organizing and set up/tear down.
Thanks again to the guys for playing a PG rated Bones game, Amber loved it.
Thanks to those who came to my class - I was astounded by turnout - biggest class I've taught since Pennsic years ago (and for the feedback after).

| Yes, we have a 30-cup coffee maker.
We can bring it, though we were thinking of arriving around 2:00. If you want it earlier, maybe I can send it with Lady Petrushka.
I"ll even throw in some coffee |
|
2:00 will be just fine. Thank you so much Galiena! I can bring sugar and creamer. |
