We are REALLY going to try to get this thing going on time. Just prior to these battles are the Belted and Unbelted Champions Battles so we'll see how that goes.
If Atlantian Court is held at the Fort, we are usuing it for a castle battle in light of the Seige of Acre. So we will have to pay attention to the time as to not impeed upon Their Majesties.
As far as water bearers and Marshals we will take what we can get. Yes, period garb would be nice and if we have enough we might limit participation to those who look the part, however we all know that we need every person we can get in these situations.
Thank you Brother Brian de Bryce for all your work. _________________ Lord Tyerrie de Destroit

I'm guessing (total guess) that there will be about 20 Crusaders and another 20 Sacarens at least from Atlantia participating. Things are really disorganized but I know there will be fighters, seige weaponers and archers as well as support staff (hopefully in appropriate garb) as marshalls and waterbearers.
The battle is right before our court so that is going to impact it a bit. Hopefully if we can start on real time, rather than "SCA" time, we can get a lot of Atlantians there. We have our court at the castle at six anyway, so I am telling folks to plan on just staying on the field. I think it would be awesome to have the Crusaders and Sacarens come in, covered in glory (and sweat ) to court....

Red Light Sabers I think are a bit of a stretch to the authenticity rule but we'll just have to see how cool you actually look to make our final ruling.

Syr Bran is the Templar Commander and all Templar Conroi should coordinate with him. It sounds like Syr Brian de Bryce is coordinating the Templars of Atlantia.
Is there someone who is assuming command of the Hospital? The Teutons?
If so post here please.
Also it was requested that we start to get a head count. Please send your Conroi, its compliment, which side you will be fighting with, etc.

Salaam Alaikum
Would all brother's of the faith and allies of the Saracens please contact me off list at Captainvargas@yahoo.com. I'm trying to get a head count of our side. And please feel free to cross post this to all interested parties. Time draws near for the conflict and it would be nice to know how the sides are balanced.

I am want to say, it is often found the franks easily forget many things, treaties, agreements and anything having to do with nobility.
May they count themselves reminded. _________________ Syr Gunnar Redboar called Battle-Forger

Have We not already issued Challenge and have you not already accepted it?
It would appear that We are not memorable enough to keep your interest? _________________ Sometimes you get the Duke you need rather then the one you want. |

I stand as Maximo of Byzantium, an envoy onto the Court of Salah Hudin from Emperor Isaac II Angelos. Who seeks peace with the great the Ayyubid dynasty along his eastern borders.

To all lords and ladies who are planning on participating in this event,
It is getting down to the wire as it were and there is but two months to go till this happens.
Could we begin to post what conroi (units) are forming, how many people in them, what side you are rallying to, etc.
I know that I am going to be part of a Templar Conroi which includes His Highness Palymar, Syr Bran, I think His Highness' squires?
Please post asap so we can see how lop sided this will be?
The last I have heard King Richard and Saladin are going to sit and discuss terms and conditions at an upcoming event. I am assuming the outcome will be posted here.
We are very excited about how this is all coming together.
Also, if you care to, post your preparations and maybe pictures? I'm so curious how the Hospital is coming along? The Saracen banners? The neat and inventive armour and garb? Do we have Brothers of St. Lazaras? Will the Old Man in the Mountain be there with his assasins?
Soon my friends, so very soon.
Bro T

I am hoping Michail or others took some photos as for some reason, we couldn't. Guess Sony and Nikons don't go well in Templar garb.
Side Note: Frere Tyerrie, Good job on the Templar Confreres Cloak for Prince Palymar. More to be posted after Tyerrie and I compare notes. _________________ A sure sign of a lunatic is that sooner or later, he brings up the Templars." -Umberto Eco

The exchange at Baronial Border War between HRM Dag, HRH Palymar, Sir Bran, and Tyerrie was very cool to see. Thanks for adding to the atmosphere of not just this battle, but the SCA in general. _________________ Cpt Denewulf Ivarsson, CSO Squire to Sir Ivar Idthur-Drengr Thegn-Skald of Haus Kriegsturm
