Seasons Greetings! It's Spring, Let's Fight!.
Once again its the season to move outdoors, dont miss the opportunity to inprove both your Melee and Tournament skills over the Summer. This new summer season will once again be a fun one! So bring your friends.....
We have also entered the new season at Halmich Park, let's work on making sure that we get everyone back out to Melee practices. Here is a schedule of stuff coming up:

5/11 NO Roaring Wastes practice

This post is a "Head's Up" of Pennsic War this year. His Highness Lutr and myself tried to fit as much fighting into the war as possible. The toughest part of the negotiation was figuring out how to fit it all in and still leave time for other events that take place at the war. While some people have stated that this doesn't look like a ton of fighting to themselves, the scope of these battles actually involve much more fighting than at a smaller event. I can fight 10 field battles while standing on my head at most events but after 3 at Pennsic, I'm pretty winded. Yet still we felt we could push it to 5 battles and if attrition isn't too bad, I will be more than happy to advise my grand heir accordingly.
I'd also like to let everyone know the Barony of Concordia of the Snows is once again hosting their 10 man melee tourney most likely Monday following the Battle of Rome. There is a new twist this year as only a total of 2 royal peers & 5 knights are allowed per 10 man team. With no stacked teams, everyone has a shot at putting together a competitive team. So all you melee groups out there, get ready to rumble! :Wink:

Another good website for those interested in fighting bastard sword.
I first picked up a sword ten years ago when I belonged to a renn faire company, and started training with a school called Knights Association of Arms. I got hooked into the emerging Western Martial Arts movement, and then SCA combat. I've fought exclusively Bastard sword throughout that time, and have had enough people ask me how to fight with one (and seen a lack of resources online) that I decided to share what I've learned so far.
